Pettisville FFA Alumni Holds Annual Meeting

PRESS RELEASE – The annual meeting of the Pettisville FFA Alumni and Friends was held recently in the Ag Ed Room.

As part of the business meeting Scholarship and Grant updates were given. Receiving the 2025 Senior Scholarship was Noelle Fox, Huntington University, studying Ag Business.

Graduate scholarships went to Sophie Sterken, Taylor University, studying music and environmental science and Lily Wiemken, Northwest State, studying Ag Business.

Grants went to Caitlyn Girdham to expand her welded flower business and Tobin King to expand his lawn care business. Gavin Sifuentes used Leadership Fund monies to attend the International Science Fair.

The group has recently supported the Ohio FFA Foundation, trophies at the Fulton County Fair, state and national convention meals, the School Unity Project and other student needs. Most of the income is from the Pettisville Pumpkinfest held in October.

Officers elected were: President – Chad Aeschliman, Vice President – Kim Wyse, Secretary – Luke Short, Treasurer – Josh Bruner, Assistant Treasurer – Cathy Nofziger and Reporter – Lexie Poulson. Hannah Meller is the Past President.

FFA Alumni’s were formed to operate in support of local chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.

Their purpose is to help today’s agricultural youth by joining together in a united volunteer effort to assist FFA, promote a greater knowledge of the agricultural industry, and support education in local agricultural education programs.

The National FFA Organization is a national youth organization. The FFA mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.

The National FFA Organization operates under a federal charter granted by the 81st United States Congress and it is an integral part of public instruction in agriculture.
