Randy Box Shares Bike Tour Experience With Stryker Rotary

March 13, 2015Updated:November 30, 2016No Comments1 Min Read

DSCF4360 WEBRandy Box shared his experience of riding in the Rotary bike tour for M.E.S.A. (Medical Equipment & Supplies Abroad) is a project of district 6600 taking donations of medical equipment and sending it to countries in need. Most of the equipment is no longer used in this country but can still provide a needed service for people abroad.

The Bike Tour is one of the fund raisers for this project, and the upcoming ride in June will be the seventh ride Randy has participated in. He enjoys the ride each year where the riders travel on average of 60 miles per day for five consecutive days. Randy will have traveled over 2,000 miles in these MESA events after this year’s ride. He said most years there are twelve to fifteen riders for the complete route as well as many others who ride only a portion of the route.

Randy also informed us that the District has purchased a building in Fostoria where they can warehouse the medical equipment before shipment. The space also has office space and a place to store records. Some renovations are currently underway to make the space more secure.
