Richard E. “Jack” Stantz, 79 of Bryan died Saturday, at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home in Montpelier. A resident of Bryan for most of his life; he was born on August 8th 1933 in Superior Township to Earl C. and Nina (Zigler) Stantz.
Richard retired from the maintenance department at Bryan Metals in Bryan with over 20 years of service. In Richard’s spare time he could often be found fishing where many fond memories were shared with his children. Richard also enjoyed having his morning coffee and breakfast at Shaffer’s Restaurant in Bryan.
Richard is survived by five daughters: Amy (Charlie) Perry of Rush, KY, Chris (Charles) Taylor-Nichols of Bryan, Theresa (Richard) Perry of Stryker, Ohio, Donna (Ron) Burke of Orlando, FL, and Barb (Bill) Fedderke of Evansport, Ohio, and one son Danny (Dorcus) Lamneck of Bryan, 16 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one sister Priscilla Wolff of Bryan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Viola Clark and a great grandson Gage Roberts.
Services for Richard will be on Wednesday at 2pm at the Thompson-Geesey Funeral Home on 204 East Main Street in Montpelier with Pastor Don Harris to officiate. Visitation hours will be on Wednesday from 11am – until the time of the service at the funeral home. The interment will follow at the Fountain Grove Cemetery in Bryan.
