Richard F. Osborn

richard-f-osbornRichard F. “Dick” Osborn, age 85, of Sturgis, Michigan, died at 11:30 P.M. on Saturday, September 3, 2016, at Riverview Manor Nursing Center in Three Rivers, Michigan, after an extended illness. Mr. Osborn was a 1948 graduate of Edon High School and had formerly operated the grocery in Edon, Ohio, operated a dry cleaner’s in Battle Creek, Michigan, and was a successful real estate broker, operating Heritage Realty in Sturgis, Michigan, for many years until his retirement. Dick enjoyed playing the trumpet and for many years played Taps for veterans’ military rites.

Richard F. Osborn was born on September 9, 1930, in Edon, Ohio, the son of Paul L. and Wava (Longabarger) Osborn. He married Eileen Jean Eash on April 29, 1975, in Goshen, Indiana, and she survives.

Survivors also include two sons, Jeffrey (Genevie) Osborn, of Lexington, Kentucky, and Stephen (Rhonda) Osborn, of Beecher, Illinois; two daughters, Christine Daniels, of Snohomish, Washington, and Angela Osborn-Meisel, of San Ramon, California; two stepsons, LaMar (Martha) Riegsecker , of Middlebury, Indiana, and Timothy (Bridget) Riegsecker, of Bristol, Indiana; one stepdaughter, Tamela (Robert) Wegner, Vicksburg, Michigan; twelve grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Raymond (Jane) Osborn, of Loveland, Ohio, Ronald (Marsha) Osborn, of Milford, Michigan, and Robert (Marlene) Osborn, of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Osborn, of Edon. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Annette Osborn, and one brother, Roger Osborn.
