Robert R. Schang, age 92 years, of Archbold, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at his home. He was born September 6, 1926 at Fayette, the son of Frederick and Frieda (Double) Schang.

He married Velma Schroeder on June 7, 1945, and she preceded him in death on July 22, 2012. A lifelong resident of the Archbold area, he was a truck driver for the former Archbold Truck Lines. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a member of the American Legion B.L.W. Post 311. He enjoyed golfing, and spending time at Hamilton Lake.

He is survived by three sons, Randy Schang, Danny Ray (Sharon) Schang and Toby Schang, all of Archbold; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a granddaughter; 4 brothers; and 3 sisters.

At his request there will be no visitation or service. Short Funeral Home in Archbold has been entrusted with the arrangements.
