Robert “Bob” W. Beck, 41, a lifetime Montpelier resident passed away Thursday evening at Community Hospitals and Wellness Center in Bryan. He was born in Bryan on January 4, 1973 to Larry D. and Diana L. (Pitts) Beck. Bob graduated from Montpelier High School in 1992. After high school he enrolled in an apprenticeship program for Masonry in Ft. Wayne. On November 7, 1998 he married Amy R. Stickney and she survives.

Bob was a loyal friend to many, an awesome brother, loving husband and a great dad; his smile could light up a room. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Montpelier. He was also a member of the exclusive BOR. Bob was a Journeyman brick mason until May 2013, helping build the Montpelier, Edon and Edgerton schools, Bryan Hospital, as well as his own home. Bob was an avid outdoors-man, he loved to fish, hunt, and work with his horses. He helped coach his son’s baseball teams from minors through pony league. He also enjoyed watching his daughter play softball and perform with her dance class and was very proud of both of his children.

He is survived by his wife Amy; son Remington W. Beck; daughter Rea L. Beck all of Montpelier; father Larry (Kay) Beck of Bryan; mother Diana Beck of Bryan; brother Otis (Missy) Beck of Coopersville, Michigan; Paternal grandmother Donna M. Beck of Montpelier; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins as well as Amy’s family and extended family.

Bob was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Richard D. Beck and maternal grandparents Robert W. and Helen E. Pitts.

Donations may be made to Bob’s children. Online condolences can be left for the family at www.thethompsonfuneralhome.com.
