Roger E. Stockburger (1948-2013)

Roger E. Stockburger, age 64 years, of West Unity, passed away Thursday afternoon, April 18, 2013, at the Arbors at Waterville. He was born December 19, 1948, at Wauseon, the son Claire and Beulah (Stamm) Stockburger. A lifelong resident of the West Unity area, he worked at Stockburger Brother’s Turkey Farm, and with his brother, owned and operated Stockburger Auto Sales & Salvage Co. near West Unity for 30 years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing and recycling. He was a member of Lockport Mennonite Church, rural Stryker.

He is survived by two brothers, Ronald (Sheila) Stockburger of Archbold and Daryl (Mechelle) Stockburger of Crystal Beach, TX; one sister, Carol (Myron) Shenk of Albany, OR; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday April 27, at 4 PM at the Lockport Mennonite Church. Interment will precede at 2:30 PM in the Lockport Cemetery. Friends may call at the Lockport Mennonite Church from 2-8 PM on Friday. Short Funeral Home in Archbold has been entrusted with the arrangements. The family suggests that memorials be given to Lockport Mennonite Church, Gideons International, or the Donor’s Choice. www.ShortFuneralHome.com
