Ruth L. Ice WEBRuth L. Ice, 97 years, of Montpelier, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers, Bryan, with her family at her side. Ruth was born June 11, 1918 in Hastings, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Orval and Sarah Jane (Dye) Young. She married Edward E. Ice on July 4, 1934, in Folsom, West Virginia.

Ruth was a devoted wife and mother, who dedicated her life to caring for her family. She was raised in the Baptist Faith. Ruth enjoyed cooking, crocheting, sewing, going to garage sales and finding a great bargain. Ruth truly treasured the time she spent with her family. She also collected Fenton Glassware.

Surviving are her two children, Jane Williams of Montpelier and Larry (Gloria) Ice of Stryker; five grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward; two sisters, Opal Young and Grace Edgell and one brother, Wilbur Ice.

Visitation for Ruth L. Ice will be held Thursday, June 9, 2016 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan. Funeral services for Ruth will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2016 in funeral home with Pastor John MacFarlane officiating. Interment will follow in Shiffler Cemetery, Bryan.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial donations be given to the Black River Baptist Association, Hispanic Church Plant, P.O. Box 310, Hoxie, Arkansas, 72433.
