BOYS VARSITY BASKETBALL

Hilltop 47, Antwerp 38

The Cadets notched their 20th victory with the non-conference win over Antwerp. As is usually the case it was Quinn Smith and Ryan Brooker leading the way with 15 points apiece. The hot shooting cadets connected on 87% of their two point attempts and added 12 points from the foul line.


Paulding 56, Bryan 55

Despite their desperate attempt in the fourth quarter, The Golden Bears fell by one point in the non-league game. After ending the third quarter down 43-32, Bryan scored 23 points in the final period but fell just short. Jaden Valderas led Bryan with 20 points and Colt Arthur added 15.

Wauseon 65, Pettisville 43

The Indians kept pace with Hilltop as the area’s only 20 game winners. Wauseon took off in the second quarter outscoring the blackbirds 20-5 as they continued to roll. Brooks Gype took the scoring honors in this one connecting for 20 points. Carter Bzovi and Austin Rotroff supported with 16 and 11 points respectively. Detric Yoder and Graeme Jacoby led Pettisvlle with 12 points apiece.

Defiance 67, Archbold 62 (OT)


It was the 11-6 advantage in the overtime session that led the Bulldogs to the non-league win over Archbold.  The Blue Streaks, 16-5 overall, were led by Bryce Williams who finished with 24 points. Kaiden Bedsole added 15 and Rigo Ramos connected for 11 points.

MCVD 62, Montpelier 48

The Locos fell behind 33-21 at the break and could not recover as they fell in the non-conference clash. Michael Blake led Montpelier with 22 points and Kolden Uribes finished with 15.
