Shawna Goldsmith (1974 – 2024)

Shawna (Heath) Goldsmith, age 50, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday August 16, 2024. Shawna fought the fight against cancer and was reunited with her family in Heaven.

Shawna was born on February 7, 1974, in Wauseon, OH, to Penny (Heath) Stites, where she grew up. She graduated from Wauseon High School, Class of 1992. She married Les Goldsmith on January 6, 2002.

Shawna’s children and grandsons were her pride and joy. She loved spending time with family and making memories.


She was a health care provider for many families in homes as well as facilities; she took pride in caring for others.

Shawna was a teacher at All God’s Children Daycare, where she touched many children’s lives as well as parents through her love and teaching. Anyone that knew her knew that she loved her cats Tina, Milkyway, and Callie.

Shawna is preceded in death by her mother, Penny (Heath) Stites; grandmother, Patsy Heath; aunt, Karen Heath; uncle, Joe Collins; and great-niece, Gemma Thompson.


Surviving is her husband, Les Goldsmith; daughter, Brandy Davis; son, Devin Goodman; and grandsons, Wyatt Davis, and Tanner and Zane Goodman. Also surviving is her sister, Tess Trucks; aunts, uncle, nieces, great-nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The visitation for Shawna will be held on Friday August 23, 2024 from 2pm-7pm at the Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon, OH. Funeral services will be held at Hope Christian Fellowship Church in Wauseon on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 10am. Officiating will be Pastor Maryann Reimund, Luncheon to follow at the Wauseon American Legion Post 265. Burial will be private with family.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the benevolence of the family. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.grisierfh.com. The Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home of Wauseon is honored to serve the Goldsmith family.

The family is asking that everyone wear purple in remembrance of Shawna. Pallbearers: Devin Goodman, Michael Heath, Shane Halling, Ed Heath, Wyatt Davis, Damien Hayward.


The obituary for Shawna was lovingly prepared by her family.
