(February 7th, 2015) – PETTISVILLE: The Lady Eagles of Fayette were unable to hold their own against Stryker in the Eighth Grade Semi-Finals of the Buckeye Border Conference’s (BBC) Girls Tournament.
Stryker claimed victory, as well as a spot in the BBC Finals with a 26-16 victory over the Eagle girls.
The Lady Panthers got off to a great start, taking charge with a 10-3 lead in the first period of the contest. They added to that advantage in the second quarter, outscoring Fayette 5-2, At the half, Styrker enjoyed a 15-5 cushion. The third period saw the Panthers pull a bit further ahead, again adding 5 points to their total as opposed to Fayette’s 2. The Lady Eagels made a late run to try and get back into the game, but the 9-6 effort fell short of a comeback.
Haines led Stryker with 8 points. Breier and Stuckey each added 5 points in the Lady Panther victory as well.
Mataya Rufenacht contributed 7 points to the Fayette total. Kendra Ellis put up another 4 points in the loss.
