The Superior Township Trustees met in a regular session on Tuesday, May 5 at the township building.
Chairman Mike Trausch called the meeting to order with trustees Dan Gillen and Jake Borton in attendance followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and approval of meeting minutes of April 21, 2026.
Trustees reviewed an estimate of $22,722 from PM Roofing of Edon to coat the township building roof, which also included a 15-year warranty.

Borton made a motion to approve the estimate with Gillen seconding the motion. All were in favor.
Trustees also reviewed an estimate from Ward Construction of Leipsic for chip and seal work in the township. Gillen made the motion to approve the estimate with Borton seconding the motion. The estimate was approved by a 3-0 vote.
After reviewing the Williams County Engineer’s estimate for spot paving on Creek Boulevard, Cody Boyd will be contacting M & M Asphalt of Edon for an additional estimate.
The township sign list was reviewed to determine items for the Township Safety Sign Grant Application. The application will be completed.
Trustees discussed sending a second bill to the Window Doctor for a fire run which occurred in December 2025. Fiscal Officer Vanessa Shepard will contact the district attorney to determine the next steps.
A proposal was discussed by Lyle Brigle creating a trust fund for the repair of ten family headstones/foundations. Boyd will obtain pricing and will report back at the next meeting. Shepard will establish a designated trust fund.
Trustees discussed a bill being sent to a township resident for damage to a ditch from a manure spreader that required three hours of labor to restore proper drainage and prevent roadway deterioration.

A resident inquired about responsibility for repairing a headstone if damaged by a fallen tree. It was noted that homeowners’ insurance may provide coverage, typically up to $500 for headstones.
Following the payment of bills, the meeting was adjourned.
