PIONEER – Josh Taylor and Jalen Dancer had the hot hand for North Central as they sprinted out to a 33-17 halftime lead and never looked back for a 67-56 Buckeye Border Conference win on January 10th.
The Eagles used a second quarter explosion to increase a four point first quarter advantage to sixteen, outscoring Edon 18-6. The Bombers would rally back in the third, erupting for 22 points helped by Brock Thiel’s 11 points. North Central kept Edon at arm’s length going to the free throw line 23 times in the fourth quarter and hitting 14 times to close out the game. The Eagles hit 19 of 33 attempts from the charity stripe compared to Edon’s 10 for 21.
North Central’s Taylor led all scorers on the evening with 17 points while Dancer kicked in 14, Cam Cochran 12, Brandon Geiser 11, Kole Peterson 7, Branden Turner 4, and Clayton Ferguson 2.
Pacing Edon was Thiel with 15 points, Jacob Brown 11, Mike Peeples 10, Kaden Sapp 9, River Wicker 5, Clay Parrish 4, and Reid Bowling 2.
