ARCHBOLD (April 7, 2026) — In a game defined by grit, timely execution and dominant pitching, Edgerton rallied late to edge Archbold 3-2 in a tightly contested non-league matchup Tuesday evening.
Olivia Wallace delivered a composed and effective performance in the circle for the Bulldogs, allowing just two runs on five hits across seven innings.
She matched up against an equally impressive outing from Archbold’s Makena Thiel, who struck out 11 batters while surrendering three runs on seven hits over a complete-game effort.
For much of the night, both lineups struggled to solve the opposing pitchers. The first two innings passed quickly, with minimal offensive production as hitters adjusted to strong command on both sides.
Archbold broke through in the bottom of the third. After Autumn Nafziger worked a leadoff walk, Adi Kinsman roped a double to right field to bring her home for the game’s first run.
With two outs, Kinsman aggressively swiped third and later scored on a miscue by Edgerton’s second baseman, extending the Bluestreaks’ lead to 2-0.
Both pitchers took control again in the fourth, combining for a hitless frame and keeping the momentum firmly in the circle.
Edgerton finally broke through in the fifth, and did so with two outs. Ayden King started the rally with a single before consecutive walks loaded the bases. Ava Swank then put the ball in play, and a throwing error allowed both King and Alivia Farnham to cross the plate, knotting the score at 2-2.
The Bulldogs carried that momentum into the sixth. King came through again, lining a single to left that scored Morgan Cape and gave Edgerton its first lead of the night at 3-2.

From there, Wallace shut the door. She limited Archbold to just two hits over the final two innings, preventing any late rally and securing the comeback victory for the Bulldogs.
