Treasurer Dave Fleming informed the Wauseon School Board of an opportunity at the Friday afternoon Board meeting held on February 5, 2021.

Following his explanation, the Board voted to approve a motion to enroll “into a Demand Response Participation Agreement with JMI Consultants,” an energy service consulting firm out of New York.

The agreement is free to the district and can bring in a check for around $20,000 if they “power all of our systems down for one hour every summer when it is off PEAK,” Fleming explained.

Board member Rick Stidham asked if they could power down for two hours, but Fleming laughed and said that it was only for one hour.

Fleming also reported that a U.S. Census Certificate of Appreciation/2020 Recognition was sent to the school and that due to school cancellation on February 5, the report from Joe Friess, Middle School Principal will be given in April.

The Board voted to approve the minutes for the previous meeting as well as the Bills and financial reports given by Fleming.

Donations approved, with gratitude, included:
