William C. “Bill” WelchWilliam C. “Bill” Welch, age 85, of Wauseon, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2016 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo. Before retiring, Bill was owner of J & B Feed Company in Wauseon.

Bill was born in Mercer County, Kentucky on October 9, 1930, the son of the late John and the late Pearl (Spurlock) Welch. He married Lois E. Hartley on January 10, 1950, and she preceded him in death in March, 1993. Bill married Barbara Ann Mull in July, 1994, and she survives. He was a member of the First Church of God in Wauseon. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Bill enjoyed fishing with Ohio friends and going to Texas in the winter to fish.

Surviving, besides his wife, Barbara, are daughters, Carla Sue Corkle of Wauseon, Gloria M. Welch of Georgetown, KY; step-sons, Gordon Mull and Greg Mull of Wauseon; step-daughter, Lu Ann Mull of Wasueon; grandchildren, Jeremy Corkle of Wauseon, Katy Corkle of Archbold, and Sarah Mull of Wauseon. He is also survived by brothers, Charles Welch, Lucian Welch, Pete Welch, all of Kentucky and sister, Geraldine Chapman, of Kentucky.

In addition to his wife, Lois, he was preceded in death by daughter, Rebecca Ann Welch; brother, Ellis Welch; sister, Joan Welch; and step-son, Jeff Mull.


Visitation for Bill will be held from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Friday, January 22, 2016 at the Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the First Church of God in Wauseon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be given to the charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.grisierfh.com
