The March 2, 2023 Williams County Commissioners meeting began with approving Resolution 23-0080, which was a transfer request from the engineering department; Resolution 23-0081, which allowed for bidding to begin for the water valve replacement project; Resolution 23-0081, which approved a credit card agreement for the Williams County Treasurer; and Resolution 23-0083, which signed off on the bid awarded to the Gerken Paving.

Discussion was then held on signing off for travel expenses associated with training conferences, as well as approving permits for Wicked ‘Wiches and BBQ vendor parking.

The Friends of the Park have contacted the commissioners about the park board request $5000 for conducting a study.

Commissioner Terry Rummel moved to approve Williams County’s contribution through the Parks Board for this project. Commissioner Bart Westfall seconded it.

The South Lynn Street waterline project was approved and signed off on.

Commissioner Lew Hilkert then made a motion to proclaim March as Disabilities Awareness month in Williams County and the week of March 1 as Developmental Disabilities Advocacy week.

Westfall moved to approve the bills as presented by the county auditor before Rummel seconded it.

Commissioner Westfall then brought up a meeting regarding the window replacement project to coordinate parking space utilization for the Williams County Courthouse.

Rummel recommended having an ad-hoc committee to help direct traffic and parking in the event of a street closure.
