Williams County Commissioners met on Thursday morning, January 26, 2023, after notice that if a Level 3 was called, they would be canceled.

As it was only level 1 by that time, they did hold a regular session with the approval of one resolution, Resolution 48, supplemental appropriations.

Also signed included dog warden report for the week of January 16-22, credit card appropriations on behalf of sheriff’s office for the month of February, and a letter of resignation from an employee in the Department of Aging. They also approved the minutes for January 23 and the payment of bills.

Commissioner Terry Rummel updated the others that JFS assistance has clarified that for those who are receiving food stamps, the federal government has moved the amount of money back to what they were getting before they added the extra during the pandemic.

Some people will be getting less, so he encouraged everyone who has questions to call 419-636-6725.

He said it takes two and a half minutes to get through, but once you get through, it is “pretty understandable.”

He said he is doing everything he can to get this information out. The benefits will change on March 1st.

The information is on the commissioner’s Facebook page also, stating that beginning in March, recipients will be getting only their normal allotment for SNAP.

On a second note, Rummel said that he had received info from juvenile detention that they have been running around twelve juveniles and Judge Gallagher now has it back down to eight.

Commissioner Lew Hilkert shared some information on the parcels of acreage at Hillside.

He said that regarding the lease agreement, all the different parcels are clarified on amount of rent for each parcel.

With no further business, they adjourned.
