The Williams County Port Authority’s January 26th meeting began with roll call. All seven officers, David Newcomer, Dawn Fitzcharles, Sean Rupp, Tyson Stuckey, John Drinnon, Dick Reed and Bart Westfall, were in attendance.

In the first order of business, the Port Authority officers approved of the meeting minutes from December 29, 2021.

The officers then approved of the monthly meeting date, time and place, for the Williams County Port Authority. The monthly meeting date will be the fourth Wednesday of each month, meeting at 5:30 p.m., in the A and B conference room of 1429 East High Street.

Next, the officers approved of the Principles of Operation for the Williams Port Authority. The officers then approved of the Port Authority’s Public Records Policy.

That was followed by the officers approving of the legal agreement between Katherine Zartman, the Williams County Prosecutor and the Williams County Port Authority.

Next, the officers approved of the Williams County Port Authority’s records retention schedule. For now, the schedule will be kept with the auditors.

This records retention schedule will be discussed at the next Williams County Port Authority meeting, to be held on Wednesday, February 23.

Chair David Newcomer then led a group discussion about the Draft Plan of Action from Poggemeyer Design Group. The Plan of Action consists of three phases, involving what direction the Williams County Port Authority would like to go, along with economic development of the county.

One plan of action that was decided upon was to assign one officer to talk to each town, to ensure that there is a committee for each town.

In looking for what direction the Williams County Port Authority would like to take, it was decided that an associate from Poggemeyer would be invited to the February 23rd meeting.

Next, by unanimous approval, the meeting adjourned.
