Joyce Ann Perkins, age 61, of Wauseon, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday night, August 21, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Maumee.
She was born in Wauseon on January 28, 1958 to the late Floyd N. Perkins and Ruth (Lumbardo) Perkins. Joyce graduated from Delta High School in 1977 and located to Wauseon in 1979. She worked at Harborside nursing home for nine years as a dishwasher and later ran the industrial shredder at Triangular Processing which she enjoyed very much. Joyce is best described as a “people person”; she loved caring about people and making sure they felt loved. Some of her fondest hobbies included country music, especially Johnny Cash, gospel music and shopping; which often included a trip to the Adrian Mall in Michigan and Walmart. Joyce had a love of her church family and faith at Haven Heights Baptist Church in Wauseon; where she was a member.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Judy Smith of Toledo; brothers, Howard (Sandy) Keller of Montpelier and Allen Perkins of Delta; nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Friends will be received on Monday, August 26, 2019 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Haven Heights Baptist Church, 1373 N. Ottokee St., Wauseon, Ohio 43567; where a funeral service will follow and begin at 11:00 AM on Monday with a luncheon fellowship immediately follow the service. Pastor Lance Wyse will be officiating. Interment will take place at 1:00 PM on Monday at Dutch Ridge Cemetery in Delta.
In lieu of flowers, those considering a show of sympathy may make a memorial contribution to Haven Heights Baptist Church in her memory. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy. 109 in Delta.
