The One More Bar and Grill Restaurant in Fayette held a ribbon cutting on Wednesday, May 18th. The restaurant, located at 106 East Main Street in Fayette, has been open since February 1st and has been serving customers since then.

Fayette residents will know the location as it used to be known as Mel’s Place and was operated by previous owners Melody and Ronald Lichtenwald for 27 years.

The restaurant was taken over by Rachel Haas who has been running it since then. Rachel used to work at the location as a bartender in addition to her office job as an accountant.

Rachel explained that when she heard that the owners wanted to sell the business, she thought it could be fun. “I was getting tired of office work.”

‘I’ve always had fun bartending so when I heard that they wanted to sell it, I knew I wanted to do it.” Rachel also went on to express her thanks to the community and the previous owners. “I want to thank Mel and Ron for their prior 27 years. I am here to support the community and I am looking forward to working with everyone.”

One More Bar and Grill is open Monday and Friday at 7:00 a.m. for breakfast. Closing time is at 10:00 p.m. on Monday with last call at 2:00 a.m. for Friday.

Tuesday through Thursday, they are open from Noon to 10:00 p.m. Saturday the location is also open from Noon until last call at 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning.

Each day brings a different special with Mondays being home cooked meals, Tuesdays being wings and Thursdays being tacos to name a few.

The site can also be rented out for events. Pool tournaments are also hosted in the building along with karaoke, with plans to bring in live music sometime in the future.
