Dale Edward Quillet, 90, of Archbold passed away August 22, 2022 while in hospice care at Fairlawn Nursing Care Center.
He was born in Wauseon on December 16, 1931, the son of Lloyd and Verna (Towne) Quillet. He married Evelyn Jane Mull on April 20, 1952, and she preceded him in death.
He is survived by two sons and three daughters: Mark Quillet, Fayette, OH, Kathleen (John) Hare, Austin, TX, Nancy (Ron) Burkholder, Archbold, OH, Max Quillet, Kinderhook, MI, and Elaine (Erin) Sweeney, Waxhaw, NC. Eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one sister, Carol Cartwright, Lubbock, TX, brother-in-law Vernon Mull, Delta, OH, and brother-in-law Dave Dauer, Camden, MI also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Viola (Jim) Humphreys, and Anna (Bill) Bump, his in-laws, Paul Cartwright, Clifford (Gertrude) Mull, Margaret (Ray) Price, Rose (Bob) Mohr, Robert (Agnes) Mull, Ora Lowell (Alice) Mull, Lester (Dorothy) Mull, Glenn (Ann) Mull, Carol Mull, and Lois Dauer.
Dale was self-employed as a farmer until his later years when he started Quillet Aquaculture. He worked far into retirement as his company was never a job but more of a passion.
He was always willing to share his passion for fishing and hunting with family, clients and acquaintances.
As a child Dale was a basketball and baseball athlete, belonged to 4-H and then later to United Methodist Men, Farm Bureau (President), and Federal Land Bank (Trustee).
Visitation will be at Short Funeral Home in Archbold, Thursday, August 25, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. A memorial service officiated by Pastor Jason Sharp at Archbold United Methodist Church on Friday, August 26 at 2 p.m. A private graveside service will be held.
