Delta Village Council held their regular meeting on September 12 at 5:30 p.m. at Memorial Hall downtown. Mayor Frank Wilton called the meeting to order and led the meeting in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Following an attendance roll call, Council approved minutes from previous special meetings on August 22 and 31, along with minutes from the regular meeting on August 15.

A correction to the agenda was made, where Resolution 22-09 was intended to be labeled Resolution 22-10, and an Executive Session was added at the end of the meeting.

Village Administrator, Brad Peebles began his report by asking council where they would like to go next regarding the park updates.

Peebles shared, “I did learn that through a program called Land For Conservation through Public Works, they do grant money for park improvements that would include the updating or restoration of the pool.”

Peebles added, “one problem with the program currently is that the applications for the current loan cycle is November 15, so we have roughly three months depending on what you want to do as a council, it has to have design plans and cost estimates attached to it.”

Following discussion, the Board agreed to postpone making a decision until a Park Committee can be made to focus entirely on the improvement of the park and pool.

Finance Director, Stephanie Mossing asked for approval of invoices as presented as part of her report, which was accepted by council.

Police Chief, Nathan Hartsock shared, “I just want to mention the police department has Lexipol for the policies and procedures manual, Lexipol is a nationally recognized program that we belong to.”

“We are one of four hundred thousand agencies that belong. They recognized us this current past year for excellence in law enforcement.”

As a part of old business, a Second Reading of Ordinance 22-13, an Ordinance authorizing the Village Administrator to execute required documents to sell rights of perpetual easement specifically for the operation of a communications tower on the Village owned land, was approved.

On the list for new business was a First Reading of Resolution 22-10, a resolution authorizing the village administrator to execute Bridge Inspection Agreement with the Ohio Department of Transportation and declaring an emergency.

Council moved to an executive session at 6:01 p.m. for the purpose of personnel that concluded at 6:10 p.m. with no action taken. With no further business the meeting was adjourned.

Delta Village Council will hold their next regular meeting September 19 at 5:30 p.m.
