Roger Connin (1940-2022)

Roger Lee Connin, 81, of rural Waldron, Michigan passed away peacefully on Friday, September 30, 2022 at Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born on November 25, 1940 in Defiance to Bernard Dale and Evelyn Mildred (Sanders) Connin.

Roger was a maintenance man his whole life at three factories, Wagners, Dana Weatherhead and Metalloy.

After he retired, he enjoyed farming, restoring old tractors, and spending time with his family and friends.  Roger also loved hunting and fishing.


He had four children, Sherry Trowbridge of Archbold, Ohio, Martin (Laura) Connin of Amelia Island, Florida, Patricia (Doug) Lashaway of Pioneer, Ohio and Penny DeWitt of Akron, Ohio; stepchildren Sandy (Gary) Tietsort of Waldron, Michigan and Cherie (Dean) Norton of Hendersonville, North Carolina; brothers Allen Connin of Reading, Michigan and Keith Connin of Union City, Michigan; 18  grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren; and former wives Eleanor (Gratz) Crommer of Pioneer and Judy (Brehm) Connin of Waldron, Michigan.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bernard Connin, sons-in-law James Trowbridge and Larry Fellows, and stepson Scott Ferguson.

Visitation for Roger will be on Friday, October 7th from 3-7pm at the Pioneer Nazarene Church. Services will be on Saturday at 11am at the church with Pastor Rob Rodriquez to officiate. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery on Burt Road in Camden, Michigan.


Memorial contributions may be given to CHP- Hospice.
