Vilay Sayarath, age 49, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at Ebied Hospice in Sylvania, Ohio.
Vilay was a trooper with the Ohio State Patrol for 12 years prior to his medical retirement.
He served in the United States Marine Corps for six years in the Marine Corps Security Guard in US Embassies around the world.
Vilay enjoyed hunting, fishing, attending car shows and gardening.
Vilay Sayarath was born on March 12, 1973 in Sayabouly, Laos, the son of Vath and Phiou (Keobouahom) Sayarath.
He graduated from Bryan High School. Vilay married Tina M. Gutierrez on October 1, 2005 in Sylvania, Ohio and she survives.
Vilay is also survived by his stepsons, Teodoro and Louis Ruiz, both of Toledo; his parents, Vath and Phiou Sayarath, of Bryan, Ohio; sisters, Vienxay (Chan) Sayarath, of Louisiana and Nicole (Tommy) Thongpasouk, of Bryan and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Kouan Sayarath.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 13, 2022 from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. at the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M.
