Ross Lee Wyse, 77, of Archbold, went to his heavenly home on Friday November 25, 2022, at Toledo Hospital surrounded by his family.
Born in Wauseon, Ohio on May 9, 1945, he was the second child of Donald & Fern (Stuckey) Wyse.
On January 22, 1966, he married Karen Stamm, and they spent over 55 wonderful years together.
They were blessed with two daughters; Alicia (Jaime) Tijerina and Andrea (Wade) Schnitkey.
He had four beautiful grandchildren that were the light of his life; Joslyn Tijerina, Jalyn Tijerina, Kayne Schnitkey & Boden Schnitkey.
Ross accepted Christ as his personal savior at a young age. He was a member of Lockport Mennonite Church where he attended for his entire life.
A lifelong resident of Archbold area, Ross grew up and enjoyed helping on the family farm. With his love for farming, he was involved in FFA and served as the President.
He then worked for his aunt and uncle, Clela and Wilbur Detter, at their furniture store in Archbold for 10 years before joining Sauder Woodworking Company.
Ross was employed at Sauder Woodworking for 35 years. He was part of its exponential growth through the 1980s-1990s, working his way up to National Sales Manager and later, Vice President of National Accounts.
Ross had a passion for charities and serving, and his expertise in management was a key tool on the many boards he served, both for-profit and charitable.
He was on the board of Shalom Ministries, the President’s advisory council for Adriel School, Chairman of the Fairlawn Village Advisory Council, Redline Equipment, President of Terrace Garden’s Clear Lake Association and numerous committees at Lockport Mennonite Church.
Ross was also a spokesperson for Cleveland Clinic, and was awarded Archbold Citizen of the Year in 2019.
He adored his children and grandchildren and greatly enjoyed spending time with them and following their activities.
Many fond family memories were made at their Clear Lake cottage, and he also enjoyed vacationing with family and friends in Florida, Cancun, Little Eden and camping.
Ross loved all sports but was an avid New York Yankee fan his entire life. He also loved the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Ross always made time to play cards, euchre being a favorite game. He enjoyed feeding and watching his many birds as well, a love he shared with his mother.
Ross is survived by two daughters, Alicia (Jaime) Tijerina and Andrea (Wade) Schnitkey, all of Archbold, and four grandchildren, Joslyn Tijerina, Jalyn Tijerina, Kayne Schnitkey and Boden Schnitkey, also of Archbold. Surviving in addition is one sister, Roxanna (Neal) Kauffman of Elwood, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Byron (Dorothy) Wyse and one sister, Ronda (Tony) Doehrmann.
Friends and family may call at the Lockport Mennonite Church, Stryker, Ohio from 2-7pm on Friday December 2, 2022. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 10:30am on Saturday December 3, 2022 also at Lockport Church, with burial to follow.
The family suggests memorial contributions to be given to The Sanctuary of Williams County, The Gideons International or Shalom Counseling and Mediation Center.
