Deane S. Rininger passed away at the age of 82, at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, Va., on March 6, 2023.
He was surrounded by his brother Leroy (Betty) Rininger and sister Belinda Campanella. Born Sept. 24, 1940, to Rex and Grace (Sommers) Rininger.
He married Helen (Kelly) Baer on Dec. 17, 1966. She preceded him in death.
He graduated from North Central High School in Pioneer, Ohio, in 1958. In 1961, he joined the Navy and retired as an E-8 Chief Petty Officer in 1981.
He then went to work for Gyro Systems from 1985 to 2004 when he again retired.
He and his wife Kelly then moved to their mountain home in Standardsville, Virginia, where he still resided.
He belonged to the American Legion Post #128 in Standardsville for 37 years. He was an avid golfer at Greene Hills Club.
He is preceded in death by his parents Rex and Grace Rininger. His wife Helen (Kelly) Rininger and a daughter, Stacy Rininger Schelegal. One sister, Carol Masters and brothers-in-law Richard Masters and David Livengood.
He is survived by his brother Leroy (Betty) Reininger of Camden, Michigan, and a sister Belinda (Charles) Campanella of Camden, Michigan. Also several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
