Mrs. Linda J. Borton went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 4, 2024, as she was surrounded by her loving family. Linda was born to Mr. James S. Boyers and Mrs. Joan M. (Box) Boyers on April 14, 1949, in Wauseon, OH.

Growing up, Linda attended Christ United Methodist Church and stayed active in church activities for many years to come. Linda and her husband became members of Crossroads Church in 1984.

Linda taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. Serving in her church was how she treasured spending her time.

She enjoyed staying active in planning their high school class reunions and annual girl’s trips with her lifelong friends. Linda went on to teach for thirty years, 23 of which were at Napoleon Middle School.

She was a cherished English teacher of 7th and 8th grade students. She was a cheerleading advisor and started a local Random Acts of Kindness Program during her time there.

Mrs. Borton was preceded in death by her parents, Jim (Joan) Boyers. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 53 years, Jerry A. Borton. Also surviving are their beloved daughters and families: Andrea (Salvatore) Russello of Newbury, MA; Stephanie (Tim) Remington of Wauseon, OH; Emily (Abe) Ruben of Evanston, IL. Survived by their 7 grandchildren: Sam and Lucca Russello; Grace, Madison, and Owen Remington; Hank and Walt Ruben. Surviving are Linda’s brothers and their families: Steve (Martha) Boyers of Jacksonville, FL; Gary (Mandy) Boyers of Wauseon, OH; along with several beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Linda’s highest values in life were her faith, family, and friends.

Visitation for Linda will take place on Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 4pm-8pm, at Crossroads Church Chapel in Wauseon. A celebration of life will take place on Friday, March 8, 2024, at 11am, with Pastor Matt Strader and Pastor Dan Allen officiating. Burial will be private at the Wauseon Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Crossroads Church of Wauseon.
