The Kaleb McLaughlin annual Ride to Remember held their event this past weekend in Pioneer. One of the events that drew in a crowd was the FREE bicycle giveaway that the event hosts every year.
According to Kim Oxender, the bicycles are something that are donated to the event every year. It’s never been something that they’ve asked for, but they are more than happy and thankful to be able to bring smiles to kids’ faces by giving them a brand-new bicycle.
This year the Ride to Remember event had the opportunity to give away 16 bicycles. The bikes ranged for kids from infancy to teens. This event was specifically only for kids and the rules were simple, you just have time to be present to win!
The bikes were on display all day just outside the Pioneer Community Center. In order to be entered to win kids just had to go to the ticket table and each child received 10 tickets to put their name on and then place their tickets in the bags for the bikes they wanted to be entered to win! The drawings for the bikes began at 4:00pm.
The surprise on many of the kids’ faces were priceless and a joy to be able to witness. You could clearly see the joy and happiness throughout the crowd when kids’ names were called for them to go and get their bike.
The entire Ride to Remember event was a success, but getting to be a part of changing kid’s days with a bicycle was even better to be able to do.
