Donna Vee Thomas

Donna Vee Thomas, 79, of Bryan passed away Thursday evening, November 5, 2015 at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home in Montpelier, Ohio.  She was born December 5, 1935, near Edon, Ohio to Melvia Ruth (Lash) and Laurence Leo Goshorn.

Donna graduated from Edon High School in 1953 and the Comptometer School of Lansing, Michigan.  She worked for a time at Oldsmobile in Lansing and Central Foundry in Defiance.  She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Montpelier, the Montpelier Garden Club, the Pulaski Garden Club, the Ohio Association of Garden Clubs Inc., where she was active on the local, county and regional level and also served as president three times.  Donna was a member of the Connoisseurs Creative Design Club and the Chapter 618 Women of the Moose in Bryan.  She was the Chairman of the Floral Displays at the Williams County Fair for many years.

She is survived by one daughter Sara (Tom) Van Horn of Rapid City, South Dakota; one son James (Rochelle) Barnard of Hillsdale, Michigan, her grandchildren, and one brother Paul Goshorn of Montpelier.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Claude Barnard, Jr. “Bud”, second husband Lowell Thomas, and two sisters, Madolin Welch and Alitza Carnahan.

Visitation for Donna will be held on Friday November 13, 2015 from 11 am-1 pm at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Montpelier. A funeral service will follow visitation at the church at 1 pm. A private interment will take place at Shiffler Cemetery in rural Bryan, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Montpelier or to the Donor’s Choice.  Online condolences can be left for the family at www.thethompsonfuneralhome.com.
