Margaret C. Friskney, age 92, of Edon, Ohio, died on Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at St. Joseph Hospital Hospice Care Center in Lexington, Kentucky, where she was a patient. Mrs. Friskney worked as a beautician after graduation from high school and met Frank Friskney at a USO dance in her home town of New Orleans, Louisiana. They were married one year later on May 19, 1943, in New Orleans and moved to Northwest Township in Williams County, Ohio, in 1946. She was baptized at Golden Lake, Indiana, in 1948 by Donald Foust, minister of the Columbia Church of Christ. Mrs. Friskney was a full-time mother to her four children, Valerie, Doyle, Amy and Denis, and was active in her church as a teacher of children’s Bible classes and with Vacation Bible School for many years. Her favorite pastime was reading, especially the Bible. She lived the last ten months of her life at The Breckenridge Resident Home in Lexington, where she enjoyed great southern cooking and made many new friends. She will be sorely missed by both the residents and staff.

Margaret Cecile Friskney was born on May 31, 1920, in New Orleans, Louisiana, the daughter of Frank and Amy (Becnel) Greaux. She is survived by two sons, Doyle (Betty Jo) Friskney, of Lexington, Kentucky and Denis (Connie) Friskney, of Durham, North Carolina; one daughter, Amy (Dennis) Feranec, of West Palm Beach, Florida; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one brother, Walter Greaux, of New Orleans; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Walter (Betty) Greaux, of Bryan, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, in 2004, one daughter, Valerie Sundstrom, and one sister, Emily Spencer.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2013, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the Edon Church of Christ in Edon, Ohio. Services will follow in the church at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor David LaDuke officiating. Interment will be in the Edon Cemetery.

Memorials are requested to the Edon Church of Christ.
