Thelma Rose (Myers) Stover, age 72, of Bryan, was called home by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, May 6, 2013, at the Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center in Defiance.

Born February 18, 1941 in Wayne, Michigan, Thelma was the daughter of Glen and Helen (Steinhauer) Myers. Upon her graduation from Edon High School, Thelma was employed with Farmers & Merchants State Bank. She married Donald W. Stover, Jr. on June 26, 1963 and he preceded her in death on November 18, 2007. During her marriage, she became a devoted homemaker and enjoyed life as a Child Evangelism teacher for many years with Child Evangelism at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Montpelier and the Montpelier Schools. Thelma was a business manager for the contemporary Christian group “The Stover’s” from 1982-1995 and was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Bryan. Thelma’s greatest joys were her love of her Savior Jesus and her dedication to her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Laura H. Stover, of Bryan and Leisa (Ken) Richer, of Bryan; grandchildren, Veronica and Nicholas Richer, both of Bryan; sister, Linda (Bill) Bany, of Bryan; sister-in-law, Sharon (Duane) King; mother-in-law, Doris Stover-Roesch; nephews, William (Dawn) Bany, Jr., David Oyer, Garry (Kathy) Oyer, Matthew King, Tyson King and Michael King; nieces, Sharron Oyer, Cheryl DeGroff, Sheila Bowers and Melody Burroughs. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Ruth Ellen Oyer and nephew, Ronald D. Oyer.
