Charlotte M. (Kemper) Hardy, 85, of Cynthia Drive, Fayette, died Saturday evening, June 15, 2013, at her home. She was born October 19, 1927, in Toledo, OH, to the late Albert and Audrey (Henning) Kemper. She married Eugene T. Hardy on April 12, 1947, in Angola, IN, and he preceded her in death on November 24, 1997.

Charlotte was a 1945 graduate of Clay High School in Oregon, OH. She lived the majority of her life in the Toledo area, where she was employed in the sales audit department for JCPenney department stores for over 30 years until her retirement in 1998. Charlotte and Eugene moved to Fayette in 1991, where they became members of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.

Charlotte was a dedicated advocate and volunteer for the Democratic Party, and an avid Ohio State sports fan. She had a skill and passion for crocheting, and she enjoyed gifting blankets to her family members and the church festival raffles. She also enjoyed bowling and going to estate sales.

Surviving Charlotte are three daughters, Linda (Jon) Dydo of San Jose, CA, Marsha (Tom) Scampini of Richland, MI, and Nancy Hardy of Wauseon, OH; seven grandchildren, Audra, Beth, Chloe, Rachel, Ben, Lee, and Trevor; and three great-grandchildren, Zach, Landyn, and Braylon.

In addition to her parents and husband, Eugene, she was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Reid.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may consider memorial donations in Charlotte’s honor to the CHP Hospice or Our Lady of Mercy Church.
