Archbold Village Council: Council Recognizes Small Business Saturday

The Archbold Village Council held their meeting on Monday, November 15th at 5:30 p.m. The meeting was called to order followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence.

Council first moved to approve the minutes from the November 1st meeting as well as the October financial reports and the list of bills totaling $985,123.50.

Council then moved to hear matters of legislation with the following items being approved. Ordinance 2021-82 regarding an amendment to Chapter 72-Traffic Rules Section 72.019 operation of certain vehicles prohibited, of the codified ordinances and declaring an emergency.

Resolution 2021-83 estimating the aggregate maximum amount of public funds to be awarded as active deposits and declaring an emergency.

Resolution 2021-84 estimating the amount of interim monies of the Village of Archbold and establishing time for designating of depositories and declaring an emergency.


Resolution 2021-86 to recognize Saturday, November 27th, 2021, as small business Saturday and supporting awareness of the value of our small businesses and declaring an emergency.

A motion was then made to move forward with the First Floor Council Chamber Remodel concept. Following a discussion of the minutes for the November 8th building and grounds committee, the motion was passed.

Council then moved to review minutes from the following meetings. Police and Fire committee meeting taking place on November 1st, Park Board meeting taking place on November 3rd, and the Building and Grounds committee meeting taking place on November 8th.


Lastly, council reviewed the following reports for October 2021. Fire and Rescue calls for response, Police Department calls for service, and the Street Department labor and fleet report.

With no further business needing to be addressed, council moved to adjourn for the evening.
