Barbara K. Von Wert, 57, of Wauseon, Ohio and formerly of Montpelier, passed away on Monday March 16th at her home. She was born on September 22, 1957 in Montpelier, Ohio to Jonathan and Gladys Marjean (Wolford) Beck Jr. On October 31, 2001 Barbara married Brian Von Wert in Las Vegas, Nevada and he survives.
Barbara graduated from North Central High School in 1975. In 1977 she graduated from the Buckeye Licensed Practical Nursing School in Archbold, Ohio. In 1984 she graduated with her Associates Degree in Nursing from Hocking Technical College in Nelsonville, Ohio. Barbara worked for Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers for 30 years in different departments. The past three years of her career were spent working as a Clinical Systems Analyst for Henry County Hospital.
She was a member of the Fulton County Democratic Women’s Club and served as secretary from 2009-2012. Barbara fostered miniature pinchers for six years and participated in “Open Arms Transport,” an organization that transports dogs from the southern United States to Canada for rehoming. She was also an avid reader.
Barbara is survived by her mother, G. Marjean Bly of Bryan; husband, Brian Von Wert of Wauseon; son, Marc (Shannon) Wilson of Pioneer; two grandchildren, Gabriel and Lily Wilson of Pioneer; two sisters, Kathy (Ron) VanEtten of Petersburg, Michigan and Denise (Ron) Dean of Archbold, Ohio; brother-in-law, Larry Terrill of Krum, Texas; three nieces and two nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Jonathan Beck Jr., son Jon Jason and sister, Susan Terrill.
A time to receive friends will be on Thursday March 19th from 3-8 pm at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier, with a memorial at 8 pm. Barbara will be laid to rest at Floral Grove Cemetery in West Unity, Ohio. Donations may be given in memory of Barbara to Community Health Professionals Hospice or to “S.O.S.
