Bette J. Brumbaugh, 72 years, of Bryan passed away early Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice, Defiance.
Bette was born November 4, 1944 in Archbold, Ohio, the daughter of the late Arthur and LaJane (Lauber) Benien.
She graduated from Archbold High School and continued her education at Defiance College obtaining a degree in education. Bette married Michael E. Brumbaugh in June 1974 in Archbold, Ohio, and he survives. She started her career as an elementary art teacher at Bryan City Schools and taught for 11 years. Bette then purchased Our Daily Bread Health Food Store in Bryan, which she operated for 37 years. She attended Grace Bible Church, Defiance where she was very active. In her free time, Bette enjoyed art and reading the bible.
Private graveside funeral services will be held in Shiffler Cemetery, Bryan with Pastor John McKay officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, Bryan, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions be made to Grace Bible Church, 2060 Jefferson Avenue, Defiance, Ohio 43512.
