(Worked Along Side Her Husband Raising Cattle)
FAYETTE—Betty K. Fether, age 80, of Fayette, died early Monday morning, October 21, 2024.
She was born June 12, 1944, in Delta, the daughter of Robert and Nina (Gramling) Travis.
Betty grew up in Delta, where she graduated from high school. She married Fayette native Gary G. Fether on October 25, 1969.
Together they raised two sons and celebrated nearly 55 years of happy memories as husband and wife before his recent passing on October 17, 2024.
Betty worked at Globe Warnicke in Wauseon for many years, and later worked for Schlegel in West Unity. Besides her outside work, Betty took great pride in taking care of her home and family.
She loved to garden, canning the crops as they came in; and work along side her husband raising cattle. A devout Christian, Betty was a member of Fayette Church of the Nazarene where she taught Sunday School and cleaned the church most of her life.
She served as a camp counselor, delivered Meals on Wheels, and volunteered for Hands of Grace, giving compassionate services to the elderly and disabled.
Surviving are two sons, Johnathan (Cheryl) Fether and Terrell Fether; three sisters, Charlotte Jones, Joan (Paul) Chamberlin, and Becky (Les) Steingass. In addition to her husband, Betty was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Kenton Travis; and sisters, Mary Seagrave and Robin Gomez.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at the Fayette Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Andy Reynard, officiating. Interment followed in Pleasant View Union Cemetery, Fayette.
