The Swanton Area Chamber of Commerce kicked off its 2026 Downtown Block Party season Saturday evening, bringing live music, food and family-friendly entertainment to Zeiter Way in downtown Swanton.

The annual series, which has become a popular summer tradition, drew residents and visitors downtown for an evening of music and activities.

Live music for the evening was provided by Kall Me Kendra, while families could take advantage of bounce houses, cornhole and other activities.

Benfield Wines and Hub’s Swantucky Bar were open for refreshments during the event, while ice cream was available at The Spot, and pizza was available just down the street from Tano’s.

Swanton Area Chamber of Commerce Director Delray Busch said this year’s block party series has received additional support from community sponsors, helping cover the cost of entertainment and other activities.

According to Busch, the full series costs over $5,000 to put on each year, with expenses covering bands, bounce houses and other attractions. Having sponsors in place this year helps make it possible for the chamber to continue growing the event.

“If we want to continue to grow and have an even better music scene and things like that, we need to get sponsored. Having our sponsors this year has helped us to be in a better position for growth,” Busch said.

She added that visitors can expect similar attractions throughout the remainder of the season, including live bands, bounce houses, cornhole and a variety of food and drink options.

The Swanton Downtown Block Party series will continue throughout the summer.
