Bonnie A. Hecock (1944 – 2017)

Bonnie Ann (Lowrie) Hecock, age 72, passed away unexpectedly in New Port Richey, FL on Saturday, January 21, 2017.

Bonnie was born in Detroit, MI on March 6, 1944 to Robert and Blanche (Snoddy) Lowrie who preceded her in death. She was the younger sister to Bill (Lowrie) Lowrie of Texas, and older sister Barbara Lowrie of Hudson, FL and Scott (Liz) Lowrie of San Jose, CA.

He married John Edwin (Ed) Hecock July 1, 1967 who passed Jan. 26, 2014. Ed and Bonnie and had two children, Betsy Wenger of Wauseon, OH and Dave (Bonnie Hiltz) Hecock of Toronto, CA. She loved spending time with her grandchildren Alex, Mia, Carson, Mackenzie, and Hannah. After raising her family in Wauseon, OH, she and Ed retired to New Port Richey, FL.

Bonnie was a third grade teacher and a reading specialist spending almost all of her teaching career with Wauseon Schools. She played bridge and golf and in her church bell choir. In retirement, she was active with the Gulf Harbors Yacht Club, chairing the scholarship committee for many years, was president of the Anchorettes, and was also Vice-Commodore. She continued to play bridge and golf, organized her book club, and volunteered in a local school.

There will be a memorial service at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Wauseon on Saturday, Feb. 11th at 11 am with lunch following.
