WAUSEON (August 4, 2026) – It was a record-setting effort by the Pettisville Blackbirds following their own dominance in winning the Wauseon Invitational on Tuesday, Aug. 4 at Ironwood Golf Course.
The Blackbirds prevailed with a team score of 286, which was 2-under par while breaking their school record of 294, which was set last year in the Pettisville Invitational, also held at Ironwood Golf Course.
Pettisville’s Graycen Osterday captured medalist honors with a 4-under-par score of 68, breaking his previous personal record of -3.
Osterday also tied the school record for an 18-hole score to par (-4), which was previously set by Max Leppelmeier in 2019.
The Blackbirds had six of their golfers named to the all-tournament team, led by Osterday’s 68. Teammate Kaleb Wyse was runner-up with a 71, Grant Boyers had a 73, Dawson Knierim had a 74, Rylee Bevard had a 77 and Gavin Knierim had a 78.
Also named to the all-tournament team were Keegan Clapp of Delta (73), Lane Lopez of Delta (75), Cohen Ford of Napoleon (75), Owen Sommer of Montpelier (78), Jack Daeger of Paulding (78) and Braden Huber of Toledo Christian (78).
Runner-up Napoleon was 30 shots back of Pettisville as the Wildcats tallied a 316 score, followed by Montpelier (317), Delta (328), Paulding (331), Toledo Christian (341), Ayersville (346), Antwerp (351), Wauseon (358), Evergreen (363), Fairview (404), Maumee Valley Country Day (414) and Stryker (418).
Montpelier’s other scores were C.J. Fidler (79), Kade Stewart (79), Malachi Smeltzer (81), Drake Farley (91) and Braylon Hopper (99).
Other scores for Delta were Luke Spiess (89), Brady Kile (91), Randy Wyse (99) and Sullivan O’Brien (119).
Dean Kuckuck led Wauseon with an 88, followed by Alyias Molina (89), Cayden Ruffer (90), and Gavin Fisher (91)
Chris Shrader led Evergreen with an 89, followed by Braxten Hudik 90, Matthew Jenkins 92, Wade Stubleski 92, Jake Farley 95 and Brendan Rafferty 102.
Chandler Lloyd led Stryker with a 90, followed by Brenna Creighton 96, Mason Gilliland 115, Abel Batterson 117 and Noah Andres 131.
Other individual scores for Pettisville were Jamison Beck 87, Dalton Zimmerman 88 and Micah Rossman 91.
Wauseon’s individual scores were Dominic Valvano 97, Reid Moser 100, Denton Fulton 109, Aiden Shea 113 and Travis Baldwin 119.
