Burdell Lamar Nofziger, 87, of Archbold, OH, passed away December 4, 2024 surrounded by family.
He was born on May 21, 1937, the son of Clarence and Ida (Yoder) Nofziger, and married Janice Mary Harper from Archbold, OH, on August 21, 1964.
He grew up in the Pettisville area where he and his siblings (one of eight) helped on his parents’ farm. He always enjoyed farming and did just that on the small family farm up till about 2 years ago.
Besides farming, he drove truck for Nafziger’s Ice Cream Company for 28 years. After he retired, he then drove truck for his brother and nephews trucking company- Nofziger Trucking.
He enjoyed being outside, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren (and of course his children). He and Janice are members of St. Johns Christian Church in Archbold.
Burdell was predeceased by his parents and siblings, Waneta Gerig, Letha Waidlich, Arlene Springer, Herbert Nofziger, Alvin Nofziger and son Daniel Nofziger.
He is survived by his wife Janice Nofziger; daughter Laura Garnett, her husband Chris and their three children, Cole, Olivia and Caiden; son Eric Nofziger and his wife Regina and their sons Calvin and Sebastian; son Scott Nofziger and his wife Kristie and their children Jesse and Jovie; and siblings Melvin Nofziger and Marilyn Verbeck.
He was an amazing dad, grandpa, and husband and will be greatly missed.
Viewing is from 4 to 7 on the 13th of December at St. John’s Christian Church. Internment is at Pettisville Union Cemetery on 14th of December at 10:00 am. Funeral Service will be at St. John’s Christian Church at 11:00 am with the meal immediately after. We welcome all who knew him to join us in celebrating the life of a man who was loved deeply and will be sadly missed.
