Carolyn Hill (1931-2019)

Carolyn M. Hill, 88, of Montpelier, passed away on August 26, 2019 at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home in Montpelier. She was born on August 5, 1931 in Montpelier to James and Laura (Bible) Clifton. Carolyn attended Montpelier High School and retired from Universal Products in Pioneer in 1992 after more than 20 years of service.

She enjoyed working in the yard, going to BINGO, playing cards, going fishing and doing puzzles. Carolyn also enjoyed watching Days of Our Lives each afternoon.

She is survived by her five children, Lana L. Hill, Marcia L. Michael, Dennis Dean Hill, Mark Leroy Hill and Ned S. Hill (Bridget Cox) all of Montpelier; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and sixteen great-great grandchildren; one sister, Verda L. Ashbacher of Defiance; one sister-in-law, Sue Clifton of West Unity; and several nieces and nephews. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jesse Hill, Jr., on January 13, 1995; and two brothers, Daryl and Don Clifton.

A graveside service will take place on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Brown Cemetery in Bryan with Pastor Don Harris to officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
