Dennis L. Upell, age 62, of Liberty Center, peacefully passed away at his home on the river Tuesday September 12, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.
Denny was born in Wauseon on December 30, 1954 to Kenneth Upell and the late Beverly A. (Andrews) Upell.
On September 19, 1975 he married Betty Repka and she survives.
Denny graduated from Liberty Center High School in 1973 and was a proud member of the cross country team that achieved third at state. Also in his high school years he was remembered as an accomplished and talented drum major with the band. Denny worked at the Fulton County Health Center as a physical therapy assistant, an orderly in the ER and later with the medical records division. He was also a proud member of the Barnes Funeral Chapel team; where he served as a greeter and staff member for many years. Denny was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Napoleon and was an avid University of Michigan fan, “Go Blue”.
Along with his father, Kenneth; He is survived by his wife of almost 42 years, Betty Upell; son, Brock Upell; daughter, Kylie (Derek) Schultz; grandchildren, Madison, Kennedy, Evan and Storm; brother, Doug (Ruth) Upell and sisters, Denise (Barry) Vollmer, Deann (Gale) Shumaker and Danette (Nathan) Hesson.
