

Don practiced Veterinary Medicine for large and small animals for 47 years in Montpelier and surrounding areas, retiring in 2000. He was a long-time member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Montpelier serving in various leadership roles throughout the church. Dr. Adams served 24 years on the Montpelier Exempted Village Board of Education, nine years on the Four County Joint Vocational School Board of Education and ten years as a member of the Board of Trustees for Northwest State Community College. He was a member and past president of the Ohio School Boards Association North West Region. He was a member and past president of the Montpelier Industrial Development committee, member and past president of the Williams County Historical Society, and a member of the Montpelier American Legion.
In addition to his passion for community service, Don was an avid reader and life long learner. He enjoyed sketching, painting, woodworking, traveling and collecting antiques with his wife Caroline.
He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Caroline of Perrysburg, Ohio; children, Deborah (Ron) Lilly of Farmington, Connecticut, Elaine (Terry) Moore of Perrysburg, Ohio, Anne (Bob) Boetel of Littleton, Colorado, Grace (Thomas) Frericks of Dayton, Ohio and John (Alison) Adams of Apex, North Carolina; grandchildren Debi Anne Lilly, Aaron Lilly, Megan (Moore) Leonhard, Lucas Moore, Adam Moore, Caroline (Wenzke) Hudson, Kevin Wenzke, Eric Wenzke, Nathan Adams and Colin Adams; and nine great grandchildren. Don was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Graydon Sherred Adams, Jr. and Ned Robert Adams.
Visitation for Don will be on Sunday, May 20th from 2:00pm – 5:00pm at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Montpelier, 402 East Broad Street, Montpelier, Ohio 43543. Celebration of Life Services will be on Monday, May 21st at 11:00am, also at St Paul’s United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Montpelier.
