Donald Cravens (1939-2022)

Donald F. Cravens, 83, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2022, in his residence with his family by his side.

Donald was born June 23, 1939, in Louisville, Kentucky, son of the late Henry and Pearl (Handy) Cravens.

He was a 1958 graduate of Ney High School, and then attended Defiance College. Donald married Carol R. Mizell on July 31, 1971.

He worked as a Project Engineer and Foreman for the ARO Corporation, retiring with over 42 years of service.

Donald was a member of Bryan First Presbyterian Church, Bryan Eagles Aerie 2233, and Bryan Moose Lodge 1064.

In his free time, he enjoyed golfing and bowling and spending time with his family.

Donald is survived by his beloved wife, Carol of Bryan, Ohio; four children, Michael Cravens of International Falls, Minnesota, Yvette (Kenneth) Zedaker of Bryan, Ohio, Donald (Amy) Cravens of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Christopher Cravens of Bryan, Ohio; 11 Grandchildren; and 19 Great-Grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Jeannine Cook; one sister, Juanita Mason; and one brother, H. LeRoy Cravens.

Visitation for Donald F. Cravens will be held Friday, September 16, 2022, from 4;00 – 7:00 P.M. at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan. Funeral services for Donald will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Bryan First Presbyterian Church, 506 Oxford Drive, Bryan, Ohio with Pastor Leo Pech officiating. Burial will follow in Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Bryan First Presbyterian Church, Elara Caring Hospice, or the Parkinson’s Foundation.

    Don was my golf partner on a couple of Leagues over the years.
    Nicest guy you’d ever meet, and was just a joy to be around.
    This breaks my heart… Condolences to his family.
