Donald J. Imm (1924 – 2014)

imm (WEB)Donald J. Imm, 89, of Montpelier passed away early Friday morning at the Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan. He was born on September 27, 1924 in Waterloo, Indiana to Albert J. and Lula M. (Bowers) Imm. Don graduated from Edgerton High School in 1943. On August 9, 1947 he married Isabel J. Tingley in Blakeslee, Ohio and she survives.

Don was a member and former lay pastor at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Montpelier. He retired as the branch manager of the Williams County Landmark in Montpelier in 1987, after 40 years of service. He was also a Superior Township farmer. Don was a member of the Knights of Columbus #5226 – 3rd degree (50 year charter member), the Williams County Farm Bureau, Northwest Electric, Edon Co-op, 75 year member of Gleaner Life Insurance. He also served eight years on the Superior Local School board and enjoyed calling square dances for over sixty years.

Don is survived by his wife Isabel; four daughters, Kathleen A. Berry of Montpelier, Christine R. Brigle of Montpelier, Charlene R. (Richard R.) Sims of Peru, Indiana, and Collene (Bob) Hill of Bryan; two sons, Donald D. (Lori) Imm, of Montpelier and Kenny J. (Pam) Imm of Fort Wayne, Indiana; two sisters Ruth Kimpel and Verda Curry, both of Edgerton; nineteen grandchildren and twenty two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one half brother Robert Bowers, and two son-in-laws Ronn Brigle and Roger Berry.
