Fayette Local Board Of Education Readies For The 2016 Calendar Year

Members of the Fayette Local Board of Education convened for their final regular session of the year on the evening of December 14.

The Board approved the financial reports for November, 2015. The Board also accepted donations of popcorn bags from First Federal Bank for the concession stand during athletic games, as well as a donation of $800 from Fulton County Pork Producers for FFA Activities.

In personnel matters, the Board approved the resignation of Sue Repp as a part-time cafeteria worker as of December 31, 2015. The Board approved Aaron Hylander as Quiz Bowl Advisor for fiscal year 2016. The Board granted Sarah Kruse an unpaid leave of absence for personal reasons on January 29, 2016 and February 1, 2016, and an FMLA leave for Timothy Morr up to 30 days during fiscal year 2016.

Looking ahead to the new year, the Board named Kirk Keiser as President Pro-Tempore for the January 2016 Board of Education Organizational Meeting, which is scheduled for January 13, 2016 at 5:00pm at the Fayette Local School Art Room. The Board selected Barbara Bruggeman to serve as a Trustee of the Fayette Area Foundation for a three year appointment through 2018. The Board gave their consent to the Adult Volleyball Program with Paula Bird as League Coordinator. Contests will be held on Wednesday evenings, beginning November 1, 2015, and running through March 2016.

The Board approved an agreement for calendar year 2016 with the Village of Fayette for the use of the park facilities, with the school district coordinating activities for school programmed athletic events. The Board agreed to a memorandum of understanding with the GFTA for modifications to the sick bank policy, dated November 23, 2015.
