PETTISVILLE – The Pettisville Blackbirds came into their January 12 game against Edgerton at .500 with a 5-5 record, while the Bulldogs were at 11-1 on the year. Until the fourth period where Edgerton outgunned the Blackbirds 25-19, you were hard pressed to tell which was the 11-1 team. That six-point advantage in the fourth was all that separated the Dogs and the Birds from a possible overtime period, and it gave the visitors a 65-58 win.
David Reyes led a balanced scoring attack with 17 points for Pettisville, with Tanner Rufenacht getting 9 points, and Kurt Siegel and Austin Dykstra each getting 8. Jacob Valdez and Jeremy Mann posted a half-dozen apiece, while Korben Rychener and Dominic Frey each had 2 points.
