On February 17, 2023, a Fulton County Common Pleas Court jury found Thomas Gerity, age 78, of Whitehouse, OH, guilty of Aggravated Menacing and Assault, both misdemeanors of the first degree.
A Fulton County Grand Jury had previously indicted Mr. Gerlty for the August 28, 2022 offenses when he did knowingly cause another to believe that he would cause serious physical harm to them, and then he did cause physical harm.
The jury of 5 men and 7 women deliberated approximately three hours before returning their guilty verdict.
The case was prosecuted by Fulton County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Stacey S. Stiriz, and Mr. Gerity was represented by attorney,
Gregory VanGunten.
Mr. Gerity’s bond was continued, with the GPS requirement concluded. The Court ordered a pressentence investigation and report. A sentencing date has not yet been set.
