Gary Sprague (1940-2019)

Gary L. Sprague, age 78, of Delta, passed away June 11, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Maumee.

He was born in Toledo on August 24, 1940 to the late LeRoy C. Sprague and Elizabeth J. Ley. After attending school in Toledo he entered the Navy and was honorable discharged in 1958. For many years Gary worked at Toledo Blank before retiring in 2000. 

Some of his fondest hobbies included fishing, landscaping and yard work around the home; but most of all singing Karaoke, especially Elvis songs.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Michael and Larry Sprague; sister, Mary Sprague and twin infant great grandsons, Oliver and Vance Gates. 

He is survived by his sons, Marcus, Tyrone and Troy (Kelli Rosonowski) Sprague; daughters, Tamra Humphries, Tina (Steve) Tedrow, Nicole (Jason) Breed and Jody Sprague; brothers, LeRoy (Cindy) Sprague, Danny (Bonnie) Sprague and Donnie Sprague; sisters, Sherri Noll and Patti Prevor; grandchildren, Alycia Sprague Williams, Christina, Emilee and Troy C. Sprague, Hannah and Benjamin Tedrow, Chloe DeStazio, Jason Breed, Paul, Grace, Sarah and Thomas Humphries, Jennifer Raker and Jeffrey Skates and Alexandria Rosonowski; great grandchildren, Lilianna and Carson. 

Friends and family will be received on Saturday, June 15, 2019 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy 109, Delta; where a memorial service honoring Gary’s life will begin at 12:00 Noon. Interment will be private for the family. 

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider contributions to a charity of the donor’s choice in his memory.
